Pressing back key twice on input prompt hides application bar

Nov 23, 2012 at 6:28 PM

If we press back key instead of returning to page(without overlay) it hides the virtual keyboard.

Pressing back key again leads to message prompt disappearing but without bringing back the application bar....

Can this lead to app rejection at marketplace ??

The input prompt has a test case for this and it returns.  Can you create a bug with a basic repo case so I can try to track down the bug?  http://coding4fun.codeplex.com/WorkItem/Create

  • Are you using WP7.5, WP8?
  • What version of the Toolkit are you using?

Right now I can't repo the issue so not much I can do.

The prompt controls handle removing and adding back in the appbar.  You can check if the prompt is Open by I believe "IsOpen" property on the prompt.

why are you recreating the appbar on the backbutton?  seems like an odd behavior

Nov 25, 2012 at 1:52 PM

nope there's just Isvisible property n when I set it to true it showed error saying check for null....
n infact appbar becomes null !! so I had to recreate it.... n u can check the screenshots it's nt added back...

Check the prompt, not the System Tray.  The prompt swallows the appbar so it acts like a system level control and returns it is dismissed.  This thread has some sample code that shows what you should be doing IMO.  http://coding4fun.codeplex.com/discussions/287976

If that doesn't help, please create a work item with a repo so I can help out.
